ACUAVERDE Resort: Rediscovering Laiya, Batangas

I'm quite ashamed to admit this, but whenever someone asks me to recommend a nice place for a weekend beach trip, I never think of Laiya. Probably because personally, I want to discover new places each time. Also, I don't have the luxury of time and money to go to the beach at a drop of a hat. So when I do, make sure to discover new ones, and reach farther places. Thanks to call of duty, I've been jumping from one coast to another for a beach volley event I'm handling. Just last week, the Luzon leg culminated in the shores of Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. The last time I was there was in 2006 for a company outing I, and I have the faintest memory of how the Laiya beach looks and feels like! So discovering rediscovering Laiya is such a sweet surprise. We stayed at Acuaverde Beach Resort, a huge property that boasts of a fantastic experience with nature. They have well-appointed rooms, beautiful cabanas and lots of space to lounge around. Their beach front I believe, is the largest among the Laiya resorts.

Acuaverde is owned and operated by the company behind the famous and exclusive Acuatico. It's the less-expensive resort without the renowned infinity pool, but shares the same, clean sands and sparkling sea water. The rooms are a bit small but well-designed anyway - perfect mix of native and modern interiors. I especially like their bathroom. Food is okay but not something I'll rave about. More importantly, the service is really good. Staff are warm, polite and goes the extra mile. (They even searched Marlboro Black for my colleague who forgot her stack)

If you're looking for a place to bring your spouse or family for a  peaceful weekend by the sea, sans the long travel, loud parties and overcrowding, then Acuaverde is one of the best place to check out in Laiya.

Acuaverde has a really wide beachfront and only 18 rooms so yehey, no overcrowding!

Each room has its own lanai

Forgot to do a beauty shot before we ransacked the room. :)

Work shot --- partying with CJ Callum David. #LastDayngKapogian haha.

Work is fun with these girls, Jelly and Kimi. :)

Here's their room rates for reference. Note that it already includes meals. No bringing of food inside and corkage fees apply for soda and alcohol. So save yourself the trouble and just leave the service to them. :)

Thanks to the GM Ms. Monet Gusi and Reception Head Ms. Arah for the warm welcome and efficient service. Hope to work with you again! :)

Happy, Hot Summer to everyone! :)
